Sexual Trauma Services of the Midlands is a comprehensive sexual assault services agency. Our team of highly trained staff and volunteers advocate for and support survivors of sexual assault and help the community to identify and prevent sexual violence. One of the best ways to prevent sexual violence is to talk about it with friends and family. Family and Friends of Survivors
It’s not always easy to know what to say when someone tells you they’ve been sexually assaulted, especially if they are a friend or family member. For a survivor, disclosing to someone they care about can be very difficult, so we encourage you to be as supportive and non-judgemental as possible.
Consent is an agreement between participants to engage in sexual activity. When you’re engaging in sexual activity, consent is about communication—and it should happen every time.
